Has anybody encountered this yet? I have tried to find out who would be affected etc. I am only asking as we have just had a review form through for my wife, whose present claim runs until June 2023.
I have read on one site that people will be notified by letter from October 31st that it will be extended by a year, but on others that people will be told 30 days before the end of their claim and that it will be for 3 or 6 months?
I am still filling and completing the review form and will be sending it off in time.

I think there's a lot going on in this area, I only wish a few more people would make a post to help us know what's going on. on the ground. I think there is still a massive backlog because of Covid and they don't have the resources to keep up. Also the new rules, which probably will never see the light of day because we will soon have a new government, about abolishing WCA's will force more people to claim PIP. In my opinion ALL long term unemployed should get PIP.

Just spoken with PIP this morning, who confirmed that the review is in the system but they may not get to it in time and that if that is the case it will be extended on the 23rd May. I would just need to phone that day if we haven't heard but it may be extended prior to that. So if you have a review in and haven't heard one month before, then give them a ring.

I can now confirm that anybody due a review of a PIP award, is being given an extension if your claim has not been looked at 28 days before your last award is due to end. One worrying part was some people may not be given an extension until 14 days before their last award ends, so if you haven't heard by 28 days before, then phone to ask what is happening.
The extension can be 3, 6 or 12 months, however whilst they will send you a letter stating the length of time the extension is for, you still have to request a letter to send to the Blue badge team and a letter for DVLA and Road Tax. Hope this helps somebody, basically if you haven't heard phone.

I sent my review pip form back in December 2022.
I have heard nothing from them. I do receive a text from them every 3 months to say they have my form and will let me know when a decision has been made.
I am grateful I'm still getting my pip but it also with this delay is very worrying.
Has anyone one else had such a delay and is still waiting

I honestly think they must be still backlogged because of Long Covid that thousands have got. Just hang in there Butterfly and try not to worry.

Back in 2012 I had a review of my then DLA and they sent a request for medical info to the wrong surgery in Micklesfield, a surgery I left in December 2010. I only found out when I submitted an SAR request after they downgraded the DLA from high parts in both to low mobility and high care. My PIP is due to be reviewed in August 2024 so I don't know when they will send the review form out, but since the move to PIP I have had a stroke in December 2018 which could mean I stay on the high rates of PIP as I now need a mobility scooter to go out on or walking without the scooter takes me about two hours to travel one mile.

I have been waiting since December 2022. Been getting texts from DWP. I got a letter last week to say it had been extended till October 2024. I was relieved. But yesterday they rang and said I will be having a phone review call. I had asked for a home visit if it was needed. But he said they don't do them anymore. I feel scared now as looking at data on line it say only 51 percent keep there benefits after a phone review. He didn't say when the phone call would be taking place.

That sounds a bit confusing to say the least. A letter saying one thing then a call saying something else. If they call out of the blue to do this review I would say to them that I wasn't expecting the call as I've had no notification. Please can they phone back on a specific date.

I never give my phone number out to the DWP if they want me for something then they must send me a letter and a date to attend otherwise I won't attend. If they send a letter asking for a phone number I just tell them my number is for friends and family only and they're not on the list. The DWP wanted me to give them a phone number to contact me in 2008 and I said the above and they now send me appointments if they want to see me.

When I got my extension letter back in April this year, it said that its been extended to April 2024 but they can do the review anytime before that date, which is why my review should've been back in August but because I didn't know I missed it now I'm waiting to see if they will disallow my PIP award haven't heard anything yet.
