A family member has lost a inherited business they had within the family for over 40+ years they had to move 9 staff to another business which is just about ticking over.
Today is the 23rd December it should of been a massive few weeks sales and like many other business's (small ones) it has been terrible Scary terrible.
I have serious questions: So if the vaccine is no longer an exit strategy, how do we exit? What does success look like now? Have the past two years of extremely heavy handed government policy been a failure? How far and how long are people prepared to go with civil liberties? Lockdowns and fake promises of reopening SCARE Tactics from government and media.

Heavy handed government? Are you kidding? If our idiot of a PM hadn’t dropped all the safety measures (wash/sterilise hands WEAR mask) we might not have had such a significant rise in infections! And if our half-witted population had followed the rules and behaved themselves like other countries, Omicron might not have got a grip. We’re the ONLY country in the UK (and Europe) going ahead with new year so watch the levels quadruple the first week of January. We’re fecking doomed. 🤦♀️

Other country's did not drop the safety measures and had the vaccine boosters before the U.K did and had the QR passport codes first ....
Some had 100% vaccine uptake and they still went in to lockdown! then it shows the lockdown's clearly dont work. Vaccine was the exit strategy.
From the business point of view i total understand bitter truth, unfortunately people who been on long term benefits dont usually understand business dynamics. My friends also lost business's because of the lockdown and staff being paid 80% (furlough) when food - electric - gas - water - WiFi has all gone up which does not even cover the basic living costs.
NHS being over whelmed crap.
If the NHS is in danger of being overwhelmed, it’s because of decades of mismanagement. The UK has seen hospital bed capacity reduced by more than 50 per cent in the past thirty years. The health service isn’t being overwhelmed. It’s simply not fit for purpose when things like this happen.
The solution is to build more hospitals and train more doctors. Fat chance of that happening
apart of the Tory manifesto was 40 new hospitals 20.000 extra police the same amount which was got rid of during the last decade of cut backs. Instead we
have 100x amount of money spent on nonsense.
£350 billion spent on Covid and not one extra hospital bed. Private sector wet dream.
Recession is on the horizon.

Recession is on the horizon. www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-lockdowns-idUSKBN2842WSSo you honestly don’t think lockdown is effective? Academics tend to disagree with you : www.statista.com/statistics/1104837/coronavirus-cases-europe-by-country/Also, take a look at just how well U.K has done with Covid compared to ALL other countries. It’s pretty damning. Of course, you may have sources that contradict these FACTS? This global health crisis (the pandemic) was both foreseen and IGNORED. The NHS has done its best in spite of a massive lack of investment over the years (even an idiot can’t miss this - just 10 minutes walking around a hospital is all you need). One of the biggest issues at our hospitals is the exodus of Europeans fleeing to their native countries post-Brexit as they could see the writing on the wall. Finally, your comment about ‘the business point of view’ You appear to suggest that those on benefits long-term (I assume you’re implying disabled people given the nature of this forum?) lack the mental capacity to understand ‘business dynamics’? That’s an extremely odd thing to say and I can only assume you’re in the wrong place. MOST, if not all, members had successful careers prior to disability with many (Annana included) running extremely successful businesses before the rug was pulled from beneath them due to serious health issues. Most in successful business will have prepared for the unforeseen (it’s called contingency planning and is perfectly normal). If ‘your friend’ hasn’t then it looks like he’s screwed up. I’m guessing you may be one of ‘Thatcher’s Children’ in that you appear to prioritise profitable business (which has to exist) above Public Health. Well, I’m afraid you simply can’t have it all ways! Finally, regarding ‘civil liberties’ (raised by bittertruths) what have they really taken away? What do you believe their objective is? I simply can’t figure that one out. COVID has ran riot in the UK because our useless bloody government wasn’t decisive enough or strong enough to give CLEAR signals to all sectors of the population. Restriction should have been rigorously enforced from the very start. Why? Because a significant percentage of our population are pathetic, entitled idiots. Jeeez, the moaning about wearing a simple face mask is unbelievable! YES,WE NEED ANOTHER LOCKDOWN AND IT WILL HAPPEN. ONCE AGAIN IT WILL BE TOO BLOODY LATE!

It seems some folks don't really care too much about Public Safety! In Scotland, there was a bit of a complaint, in one newspaper forum in particular, a broadsheet, no less, folks girning off about the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, closing the nightclubs. But these girners, didn't want to know they also shut them in Northern Ireland, and in Wales, where the measure was made before anywhere else. We have this new problem, because the tory Regime in UK didn't bother with basic safety measures, and I was amused when I heard one "business" person in London, I think, complain on the wireless, making ppl use face masks/coverings would put them off going to the shops! Well in Glasgow, ppl are wearing facemasks, and the shops have been stuffed full the past few weeks! We now have the situation, that because the tories reduced safety measures, this new variant, while slightly milder, but still a problem for those it hits, and some it can and has hit them bad enough to send them to hospital, has spread everywhere. That has been well noticed in other European countries, and they are not best pleased with UK. Simple common sense practices that should have been maintained were abandoned needlessly, so, we await the outcome in the coming weeks!!
