So now the police are going to investigate. How did that come about ? Easy when you know how. Boris phones Priti Vacant; "tell Cress to do an investigation. " "That way we can delay even longer the inquiry results because after all, the police must be allowed to do their job." That buys more time, maybe weeks. By that time Putin has gone in and Johnson can turn round and say; Who cares about parties when we are on the brink of WW3. I seriously hope he comes unstuck. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jan/25/what-does-police-inquiry-into-alleged-parties-mean-for-boris-johnson

Apparently, Phil, that seemed to be the original hope this morning at Downing Street, but, alas for them! The report, well a good bit of it, will in fact be made Public in the next few days. I heard Grant Shapps on the wireless this morning, (Radio Four) trying to defend Johnson. Sigh!! He was appalling. Even the interviewer was getting quite exasperated with G. Shapps! The tory MPs seeking to defend this creep of a Prime Minister do neither themselves, their Party, or UK, any favors.

You are probably right Gordo but I still think in a conspiracy theory frame of mind that we might not be ahead of the curve. why the police enquiry now ? Is he going to attempt to shift it from a moral point to a legal point and attempt to take the fines issued to him, apologise for being fined and breaking the law, as if he were someone in the park with too many friends and ask for forgiveness ? mad as it seems. he might just try that. john crace is always worth reading just to stay sane; www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jan/25/big-dog-suspect-but-at-least-sue-grays-report-would-be-delayed-oh

Going by the various political commentators on the wireless, it now appears unlikely we get this Gray Report before Monday. Half the Government is off to various places across UK today. There would be precious little time to get everyone back to Westminster for a several hours long debate, now. Tomorrow being Friday, is the day most MPs tramp off to their constituencies, so they would be forced to cancel already arranged meetings, etc. It would seem then, due to various last minute checks in this and that within said Gray Report, and the need for debates, and so on at Parliament, Monday would be very earliest. Tuesday seems the more probable, however. It might be earlier, but the timing looks against it, at present.

They’ll keep sticking two fingers up at the General Public and, eventually, Johnson will receive a Knighthood. We’re screwed.

The Gray Report looks like it will be published sooner rather than later!
This is from BBC News................
Downing Street parties: Sue Gray won't wait for police inquiry
"Sue Gray is expected to deliver her report on No 10 parties to the PM without waiting for the police inquiry to conclude, the BBC has been told. The senior civil servant is set to hand her report to Downing Street shortly - though no exact date has been given. But police have asked for "minimal reference" to be made to events they are looking at, in order to "avoid any prejudice to our investigation".
Tory MP Sir Christopher Chope said the Met's actions were an "abuse of power".
Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme, he accused the police of "interfering" with the content of the report and trying to prevent it being released in full. Opposition parties have also insisted the report is released in full.
No 10 has promised to publish Ms Gray's findings on alleged lockdown-breaking parties in Downing Street and Whitehall, but is yet to receive the document. ..................... "

This more from BBC News................
Sue Gray: Initial findings of Downing Street lockdown party probe published
"The initial findings of a report on lockdown parties in Downing Street have been released to the public, ahead of a statement to MPs by Boris Johnson.
The report, by senior civil servant Sue Gray, looks at allegations of Covid-rule breaking in No 10 when the country was under strict lockdown.
It is not being published in full - because the most serious allegations are being investigated by the police.
Mr Johnson is to make a statement to MPs on the report at 15.30 GMT.
Opposition MPs are demanding all findings are released in full.
Sue Gray report: What exactly is she looking at? Senior Tories demand full No 10 parties report The report is crucial to Mr Johnson's premiership, which has been rocked by weeks of damaging headlines about parties in Downing Street and other government buildings.
Many Conservative MPs have said they are waiting for its findings to decide whether to try to oust him from office.
At least 54 of them can set up a vote on his position if they submit letters of no confidence to a backbench committee representing Tory MPs.
Mr Johnson is due to address a meeting of all Conservative MPs after his Commons statement, as he seeks to rally their support.
Downing Street said it would "publish what we have received" from Ms Gray's inquiry team. ......................"

Ye Blackford got chucked out for calling him a liar. Thats one truth you can't say in the HOC by all accounts. If you continued watching there came a time when he was asked not about drinking but about drug taking in Downing Street. His answer? That question should be aimed at the Labour front bench !
