That was truly a brilliant piece!
Reference to Bullingdon Club reminds me of this.
I scribbled this one in 2015. And it is very much for an American audience!
From GORDO'S DUDE WITH ATTITUDE (2018)
..................................................................
THE FIFTY DOLLAR BILL
(The Bullingdon Club go to America)
Before the dude he stood.
He’d burn his money. A 50 dollar Bill
Right in front, he would.
Giving him a strange sorta thrill.
That he had money to burn,
and this little dude had none.
His life was full of fun.
He’d show the poor dude the way it was done!
The guy he didn’t know.
He had nowhere else’s to go.
Yet sit at the doorway, even every day.
Hoping goodness would come his way.
But Boris, & Dave were ‘cross the Pond in New York City for a day.
And they sure as hell was gonna play.
Play the Bullingdon Boys Club way.
Were goodness and kindness are kept well away.
And Davie would make a pig of himself,
and Boris would burn the dollars away,
while hogging the limelight all to his self
and still they’re doing it, right to this day!
As Davie Cameron takes the money from the poor,
and Gideon gives it to their pals in the rich fancy houses,
as Boris shuts the firehouses.
And the young are cast out to the streets for devious men to lure!
And our little dude, a tear he shed, Knowing that could’ve got him a bed
as the burning paper before him fell
Knowing too, that guy ‘d go straight into hell,
And in despair, he shook his head.
But for our homeless kid, a shelter place for him at last was found,
‘cause they had to yet come and close them down!
Now he lives a better life in a better side of town.
Where he will set his shiny handcuffs, on any ham he sees acting like a clown!
