ASDA has put restrictions on how many bargain items, shoppers can buy at any one time. It would appear too many customers have been snapping up too many goodies! All this, as the price of staple foods such as milk, eggs, and cheese, etc, continue to go up, and up! Here we have 2 reports from BBC News, on both the cost of foods, and on the ASDA story
from BBC News................... on food price rises.......... www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62891168....................................................... on ASDA......... www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62905806.......................................

And they say inflation has dropped to 8.1%, they're having a laugh most of the stuff I regularly buy has increased by 25% or more. 900g cheese up from £3.99 to £4.99, 7.5Kg potato's from £2.59 to £3.39, bread flour up from 65p to £1.19 and yeast 10 sachets down to 6 sachets and increased to 56p from 39p, thankfully I had enough meat to keep me well stocked up as I bought loads on 2/2/23 when Lidl opened that was reduced to prices like 1Kg of chicken breasts foe £2 and whole chickens for 90p as well as mince and diced beef also at 90p for 400g the freezer was seriously overloaded as I crammed everything in to even the smallest spaces. Over 5 months later and I've still got over half of what I bought packed into the freezer.
Asda used to be the cheapest for the basic range but when the, I think it was Walmart, sold it to some Indians they ramped the prices up overnight to at least the same as other supermarkets basic savers ranges. Asda has, as far as I'm aware taken the restrictions off the basic saver range as they, like I said increased the prices of the range by up to 100% on some items in the range and well over 50% on other savers items.

Sainsburys own brand tinned soup has been 57p for quite some time. So how do they justify reversing the numbers to 75p ? Anyone ? That's an over 30% increase !!! have costs gone up that much to make a bit of soup ?
