Hi there everyone, the lady I care for is a pensioner, and on pip, could anyone advise please if a housemove would trigger an assessment or a move to universal credit. She is extremely worried about this. Thank you. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think PIP and UC or ESA or JSA are completely separate in the system. (UC,JSA,ESA) are all means tested , ie they take into account savings, income etc. But I don't think PIP is. I was told by the Jobcentre that being on PIP doesn't affect how they assess you for ESA, and in fact a lot of people who have jobs or careers get PIP. So a move from PIP to Universal Credit I don't think applies to any scenario.
Re; Does a move trigger anything at all. I'm not 100% sure but my guess is that it wouldn't. With any luck someone else might say what their experience has been.
Any more info about this lady and other benefits she get's could be helpful. What do others on the forum think ?

As Phil says, PIP would not change.
However, if person is a pensioner, are they not already getting State Pension? And if so, moving from one place to another would have no affect on that. I don't see how it could, really.

Thank you Phil and Gordo, for all your help in explaining. Carol also gets her state pension. So hopefully if she does move homes, the stress will be less if it doesn't trigger anything. I forgot to mention, but what I heard was if you move counties it triggers an assessment, but hopefully with what you are saying, it won't.
