Met Office has new Yellow and Amber Warnings out for snow and ice, taking in much of England, northern Wales, much of Scotland and all Northern Ireland. From February 8th to February 10th.
These run thru to Saturday for Highland Scotland, and 'till Friday afternoon elsewhere for most of the rest of Scotland.
For England and Wales, the Yellow Warning runs from 06:00 Thursday morning (from 10:00 in Northern Ireland) and in
Scotland the Warnings run from 18:00, Thursday to 15:00, Friday. Tho northern Scotland already has a snow Warning out which will continue on and off 'till Saturday evening, 18:00 Hrs.
But for parts of northern Wales, and central England, an additional Amber Warning runs, Thursday, morning to afternoon (06:00 to 15:00 Wales) and central England, 12:00 to 18:00.
The Amber area in England takes in Stoke on Trent, parts of Sheffield, and up to Bradford.
In Wales, Amber is for ground south of Bangor and St. Asaph.
Yellow Warning areas for England take in Birmingham, Nottingham, and pretty much all places north to the Scottish Border, exempting the very eastern English coastal areas.
However in amidst of these, we have a separate Yellow Warning for rainfall for all of southern England, from Kent to Cornwall, including London, and south Wales including Cardiff. That one runs from 02:00 Thursday morning, to 06:00, Friday morning.
While not all areas will see snow, for some it might be dry entirely, expect it to be cold, and hence the alert for ice.
Other places like Bradford will more snow. However, it should be short lived, turning to rain by Saturday, but could be disruptive all the same. Thus the various warnings, etc.
