Astonishing ! Everybody knows Fosters is 4% and Speckled Hen 5% so reductions are surely going to affect sales as it changes the Brand. Not that it affects me as I am no longer able to imbibe.

Some drinker will have the DILLIGAF effect and others will stop buying it and change to a beer or lager with the strength of the drink they bought previously. I know Whychwood brewery has reduced the alcohol content of its beers by between 0.2% and 0.7% ABV, their Ruby beer has being reduced from 5.2% to 5%for the bottles and down to 4.5% for canned and draft beer. The effects this could have is that drinkers will switch to another brand or drink more of the product with the reduced alcohol content. This can only mean one thing if the drinker drinks an extra pint or two of the beer that has the alcohol content reduced and that is more profit for the pubs and brewery or supermarkets.
