Centrica who own British/Scottish Gas has been slammed over the huge profits made by charging extra on customers' bills, a practice allowed by the Government, no less!! The group made more money in the past 6 months than it did in all of last year. It is clear then, many of our gas price increases have been quite unnecessary, and the UK Govt. by its lack of regulation, and in fact permitting rules like this, have been part of the problem, it now turns out. from BBC News.............. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66315117

I'm on Tracker with my supplier, Octopus and my electric bill for this month including the SC was £31.74 and the gas was just £9.15 in total £40.89 whereas before I went on Tracker it would have been over £65 that's a saving of nearly £25 per month. The SC's went down about 7p per day on the electric and about 0.7p per day on the gas. I've had one day at just 9p per kWh on the electric and one day at 3.34p on the gas.
I read about their excess profits in the Express yesterday and they claim to be able to give more aid to those in need but the few million they give will be nothing compared to the bonuses the directors get.

Most people don't know the half of it. Interest rate hikes are yet another example of a massive transfer of wealth to the already wealthy. I mentioned before a blog worth following is this one which trys to explain is happening to us. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/

What MP's will say is those who are on benefits got a 10.1% pay rise in April but the counter claim to that should be but prices of goods have gone up by more than 10.1% since the increase in the benefits and once the prices increase they seldom decrease to the levels before the increase.
