Just had my phone assessment, asked for his name, gave it but his medical id number he had no clue what i was talking about, did mention that i had already been given my ESA award for this year, and said nothing had changed in my situation asked for the session to be recorded and was told they couldn't do that, but ive read that it is possible you just had to ask at the start, not putting my hopes up as they always write there own crap and ignore anything you say.

If you have a phone assessment, which I don't recommend, then buy a Dictaphone and give them a mobile number, many modern phones accept duel SIM cards, and activate another number just for that purpose. You can keep that second number for just DWP and their third party phone calls, meaning that every other number that you have is on the first SIM. Record it and transfer it to a PC but keep a copy on the Dictaphone. I normally recommend that any DWP form that asks for a phone number or email address is left blank so if they want you to have an assessment they either have to arrange a home assessment or give you an appointment at their place of work. Then you call them and ask for it recording, when you turn up start your own recording from outside the building and don't turn it off until you are outside the building. If they do the recording made sure the red light is showing on the Neal recording device, if it isn't tell them you aren't going ahead as they either haven't plugged in the recorder or the battery is dead which means there will be no recording done. If they say they don't have the recording equipment available then it is up to the person as to whether they go ahead but if they are covertly recording the person will have a copy of the assessment. Sometimes they send letters saying that the person failed to attend, this is where the recording of the person declining the assessment is valuable evidence because the recording equipment wasn't available and it shows that the person attended and declined because the equipment to record the assessment wasn't available.
Sometime a cheap second phone can be purchased and that can be used instead of the home phone or person's usual mobile phone & number. Sometimes they want a video assessment and want the person to download a certain piece of software to have the assessment but it could mean paying for a web camera with a microphone, some people don't want to download anything to their PC or it isn't compatible with their OS, Linux for example. I have Linux on one PC and will be changing to Linux on the main PC when the SSD goes on this machine.

Well done! I only receive PIP because I have too much savings but by the time I reach retirement age, about 6 to 7 years time, I 'll have spent enough to get pension credit.
