They reduce the kWh price by X then increase the SC's by Y. I'm on the Octopus tracker tariff and my SC's went from 48.65p for electric to 55.39p per day and the gas from 26.84 to 27.47p before the price cap for April, they went up on the 15/2/24 but at least it's for the next 12 months or so I am aware. The price of electric and gas is around the price it was in Feb 2022 but the prices per kWh are higher than the Feb 2022 prices. What I take exception too is the 18.6p per day charge added to the electric for all the suppliers that went under, IMHO, I think this charge will never be scrapped as it's a way of getting more money from customers, the only way they 18.6p will be scrapped is through pressure from the customers.

BP is reported to have paid their new Chief Exec. £8 million in a bonus payment last year. I figure that is nearly £24,000 a DAY! I think these top guys already get about £10 million in a year as standard pay. It is indeed, truly quite shocking pay scales. from BBC News............ www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cw0zj77e145o
