My old all in one printer gave up on my a few days ago, it said it needed a new cartridge so I opened a genuine cartridge that I had for the Epson printer and it said it still wanted a cartridge so I replaced all the colour cartridges and it still said the same. I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it and it was still the same.
I then went online and ordered a new all in one printer but this time I opted for a laser printer with a scanner it was a bit expensive at £130 but it was the cheapest all in one laser printer on Amazon.
I don't seem to have much luck with ink jet printers as they normally only last about two years before something goes wrong, in 10 years I've gone through 5 ink jet printers so I'm hoping this one lasts a bit longer. The good thing about it is that I can buy ink powder for less than £11 to refill the toner cartridge and even the instructions tell you how to refill the cartridge so it's not like the HP or some other printer manufacturers who demand you only use their genuine cartridges costing £40 plus for a set or 4 cartridges that do a few hundred pages with 5% coverage of each sheet, this does 1600 pages with the same percentage coverage and will cost less than £11 to refill with powder.
The printer is also wireless which is a bonus, it was easy to set up and put in the routers password, it took a couple of minutes and that was it. The amount I use the printer it will last years before it needs a first refill.
I could have bought a Brother mono laser printer without a scanner for £89 but the scanner was what I wanted as I scan some letters to an external HDD every month.
