The Prime Minister is set to go to war on the doctors, over who can prescribe a person as being unfit for work He wants this taken away from doctors, and given to some work "specialist" types. We know how that has gone down previously. I don't see how this approach will get anywhere, as doctors will still decide these matters, as well, they are doctors who know these things! We wonder how much Govt. money will be wasted setting up these planned "specialists", and we can bet it won't be cheap! from ITV News.......................... www.itv.com/news/2024-04-19/sunak-to-demand-end-to-sick-note-culture-in-speech-on-welfare-reform

Specialist doctors are the one's that know the conditions and how they can affect the person. giving this to some unqualified person like they claim ESA/PIP assessors are specialists, just means they will take the lowest form of a condition and not give out a sick note. Even a GP refers a person on to a specialist in the field of the illness that the person has because they don't know much about the condition to be able to say that the person with the condition is not truly fit for work or that they should receive ESA/PIP because of their condition, they will just write out the sick note and specify how long the sick note is to last for. My condition only has mild effects on 98% of those with the condition but the other 2% have varying effects from just above mild to severe and I'm in the 0.5% with the severe condition meaning I get out of breathe just walking to the bin outside, I often stop and rest before I get to the bins then again on the way back. I find even a 2.5Kg bag of spuds heavy and that's why I use a mobility scooter all the time when I go out.
