OLBG which stands for online betting guide is a very old website to do with horse racing.
of course like most of these websites it has been captured by the bookies.
and as such tries to prompt you to bet and lose money.
all very well.
but just like the racing post it has to tread a line between the interests of the bookies and the punters.
it has to offer some kind of vlaue to bettors like you and me.
it runs a tipping "competition" whereby ammatuer tipsters can offer advice on what to bet on.
i've been following this tipster DENOSTIN.
here are his last 2 tips as of tonight, 29th november.
wolverhampton 7;00 professor galant>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Professor Galant a 3yo gelding plummeting in the weights faster than a shooting star - runs off just 54 today from an opening mark of 66. Professor Galant has posted a RPR high of 69 and notched up a 63 on the last visit to Wolverhampton five starts back - will strip fitter today on second start after smallish break. Clearly well handicapped good jockey in Rob Hornby and Gay Kelleway puts on first time blinkers which has been profitable for her over the years showing a 10 point profit and 3/24 with 3yo popping in a 14-1 20-1 and 15-2 spotting a 20.5 point profit - its a tall ask but he who dares wins.
wolverhampton 4;00 steel helmet >>>>>>>>>>>>>
I really didnt understand what was going on with this trainer Harriet Bethell she is 9/54 on flat with 4yo + and not had a winner on flat for 984 days and William Bethell the owner is 12/91 on the flat with 4yo + as a trainer but looking into it deeper Harriet fell off a horse and was fighting for her life in intensive care Harriet suffered multiple bleeds on the brain, spent six weeks in a coma and nine months in various hospitals and thankfully she is back and well and I wish her the best in her new venture - in an interview she stated Steel Helmet will be much sharper for the run at Newcastle and is a four time winner on AW over trips ranging between 10-16f and this would truly be a dream start for Harriet with the poignantly name ls 'Steel Helmet' - good luck Harriet.
steel helmet came 2nd at 66/1
professor galant came 2nd at 50/1
unfortunately he suggested them as WIN bets so it's showing on OLBG as losing bets.
but still 2nds at those prices should make us all sit up a bit.
i'll keep you posted.
